1.1- outline the importance of safety at spectator events.
it is important to have safety at spectator events because, if someone if hurt they could sue the event company,and it would give them a bad name, also they need to comply with health and safety regulations.  

1.2- describe the contribution that stewards make to the provision of safety and costomer service.
stewards help withthe safety of an event buy helping spectators around tricky parts of the arena, and keeping barriers up around dangerous areas.

1.3- give examples of different types of events at which stewarding takes place.
festivals
country fairs
football matches
the olympics

1.4 - identify the basic legal requirements for a spectator event.
the basic requiremants for a steward is to have a crb check which proves to the company that they do not have a criminal record ar on the sex offenders register.

 It also helps to have some of these qualifications:-
  • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1992.
  • Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975.
  • Fire Safety and Safety of Places of Sport Act 1987.
  • Football Spectators Act 1989.
  • ECM 3,4,5.
1.5- identify the different roles and responsibilities of stewards at spectator events.
The roles of stewards at spectator events are as follows;
  • Customer care, which means looking after the customer’s needs.
  • The duty of looking after the spectators in the case of a fire, for example pointing out fire escape exits.
  • Responding to incidents such as fights.  
  • They control the exit gate after the event, by opening it and letting out spectators in an orderly manner.
  • They must keep watch of the car park, and stop any thievery.
  • make sure all compliants and requests are dealt with swiftly.
