it is important for stewards to work well as a team so problems get sorted quickly and not after an hierarchy arguement.

1.7- state the legal limitations of stewards at spectator events.
The legal limitations of a steward is the Section 3 of the Criminal law Act, this means using reasonable necessary force to control spectators. This does not mean that they can attack first it is only for self defence reasons.
1.8- list the roles and resposibilities of other people involved in spectator safety at an event.
The roles and responsibilities of other people involved in spectator safety are:
  • Safety Officer
  • Deputy Safety Officer
  • Stadium Manager
  • Chief Steward
  • Stewarding Supervisors
  • Emergency Services
  • Control Room Operators (Radio and CCTV) 

1.9- describe how the roles and resposibilities of other people relate to the stewarding team.
The Safety Officers and Deputy Safety Officer are responsible for spectators safety because it is their main role. They must make sure that all work done within the event is done safely and properly. They must also check that the area is safe and secure.

The Stadium Manager is incharge of making sure events that take place where a stage is needed is safe by hiring the required staff, which is the other listed people responsible for safety.

The Chief Steward is in charge of every single other steward and must make sure they are briefed and understand what is required of them before and during the event. The Stewarding Supervisors must also aid in this.

The Emergency Services, such as the Police, Ambulance and Fire Service must all be at an event in some way to help with safety. They must all work in their role as usual.

Control Room Operators must work to monitor anything that is unsafe or dangerous to spectators, such as fire or another spectator becoming aggressive. They must then send the designated person to deal with the issue.
